Year 2007 Mud Racing Classes for:

Gateway Unlimited Mud Bog Organization

Note: Classes designated as "Pit" will run in relatively deep mud, while classes designated as "Fast Track" will run a shallow, groomed track. Drivers entering "Pit" classes should be prepared for the possibility of getting stuck!

  • Tire height will be determined by sidewall stamp.
  • One class penalty for removing stamp (exception made where modified tires are allowed).
  • Tires with sizes not noted in inches will be measured horizontally.
  • In classes allowing tire modifications, tire height will be determined by measurement.

 Classes listed below will not be run in this order. Check individual event information links to see in what order the classes will run. Some events will not utilize all classes:

(A) Real Street "Pit"

  1. Tires limited to unmodified military or D.O.T. approved of 35.0" or less in diameter.
  2. No agricultural/industrial tires.
  3. Dual wheels allowed only on vehicles so equipped from the factory.
  4. Body, Frame, & Suspension must be in any O.E.M. combination.
  5. Stock replacement lift kits allowed.
  6. Engine and all drivetrain components must be in stock location.
  7. Heavier drivetrain components may be used.
  8. Must have full internal and external body with front bumper. No gutting of bed or cab.
  9. Fiberglass replacement body parts must retain O.E.M. dimensions.
  10. May remove doors from CJ, YJ, TJ, FJ40, Scout, pre '78 Bronco, & similar.
  11. Tops may be removed from vehicles with removable tops. May remove tailgates.
  12. Must retain seating for at least 2 passengers and all permanent glass.
  13. Must retain full street equipment (lights, wipers etc.)
  14. 4, 6, 8, & 10 cylinder automotive engines only. Any 4 or 6-cylinder swap allowed.
  15. Maximum exhaust size: 3” all vehicles running dual exhaust, 4” for single.
  16. Must have mufflers, which must exceed exhaust diameter by at least 1” and will have a minimum body length of 8”.  Exhaust must extend behind driver’s seat.
  17. Swapped V-8’s and V-10’s must be the same type block available in that vehicle. No V-8 mini-trucks except Dakota. Big-block V-8’s and all 10-cylinder engines will be limited to ¾ ton or heavier with a wheelbase exceeding 122" – exception for IH (304/345/392), GM "W" blocks (348/409), and Ford "FE" blocks (352/360/390 etc.)
  18. V-8 & V-10 engines must be the same brand as the body and pull steady 19" vacuum at 1,000 RPM.
  19. No aftermarket aluminum heads or engine blocks allowed.
  20. Engine limited to a single carb or O.E.M. style injection only.
  21. O.E.M. Superchargers and turbochargers only.
  22. Fuel must be gasoline, diesel, CNG, or propane. No Nitrous Oxide or Methanol.

 (B) Street Stock "Fast Track"

  1. Tires limited to unmodified military or D.O.T. approved of 44.5" or less in diameter.
  2. No agricultural/industrial tires.
  3. Dual wheels allowed only on vehicles so equipped from the factory.
  4. Vehicles must have stock-appearing frame.
  5. Suspension limited to any O.E.M. style.
  6. Vehicles in this class must have been available as a four-wheel drive.
  7. Engine and all drivetrain components must be in stock location.
  8. Heavier drivetrain components may be used.
  9. Must have full internal and external body. No gutting of floor or bed. Front bumper required.
  10. Fenders may be trimmed for tire clearance. Functional flatbeds allowed.
  11. Must have lights and wipers.
  12. Maximum exhaust size: 3” all downsize vehicles running dual exhaust, 4” for single, or for dual on full-size vehicles.
  13. Must have mufflers, which must exceed exhaust diameter by at least 1” and will have a minimum body length of 8”.  Exhaust must extend behind driver’s seat.
  14. Fiberglass replacement body parts must retain O.E.M. dimensions.
  15. May remove doors from CJ, YJ, TJ, FJ40, Scout, pre '78 Bronco, & similar.
  16. Tops may be removed from vehicles with removable tops. Must retain all permanent glass.
  17. Tailgates may be removed.
  18. Driver must remain in stock location.
  19. No chain drives. Must have transfer case.
  20. 4, 6, 8, & 10 cylinder engines. Engine swaps allowed. Automotive engines only.
  21. 8 & 10 cylinder engines will be required to pull a minimum of 15" of vacuum at 1,000 RPM.
  22. Big-block V-8 and V-10’s will not be allowed in compact or mid-size pickups and SUV’s. Compact/mid-size pickups will include Dakota, T100, and vehicles of similar or smaller size. Compact/mid-size SUV’s will include pre-’78 Bronco, and vehicles of similar or smaller size.
  23. Engine limited to a single carb or O.E.M. style injection only.
  24. Aluminum heads allowed. No aftermarket aluminum engine blocks.
  25. O.E.M. Superchargers and turbochargers only.
  26. Fuel must be gasoline, diesel, CNG, or propane. No nitrous oxide or methanol.

(C) Hot Street "Pit"

  1. Tires limited to unmodified military or D.O.T. approved of 38.0" or less in diameter (no 38.5’s).
  2. No agricultural/industrial tires.
  3. Dual wheels allowed only on vehicles so equipped from the factory.
  4. Body swaps allowed. Suspension limited to any O.E.M. style.
  5. O.E.M. frames only. No homemade frames allowed.
  6. Vehicles in this class must have been available as a four-wheel drive.
  7. Engine and all drivetrain components must be in stock location.
  8. Heavier drivetrain components may be used.
  9. Must have full internal and external body with front bumper. No gutting of floor or bed.
  10. Functional flatbeds allowed.
  11. Fiberglass replacement body parts must retain O.E.M. dimensions.
  12. Must retain full street equipment (lights, wipers, etc.)
  13. Maximum exhaust size: 3” all downsize vehicles running dual exhaust, 4” for single, or for dual on full-size vehicles.
  14. Must have mufflers, which must exceed exhaust diameter by at least 1” and will have a minimum body length of 8”.  Exhaust must extend behind driver’s seat.
  15. Fenders may be trimmed for tire clearance.
  16. Doors may be removed from CJ, YJ, TJ, FJ40, Scout, pre '78 Bronco, & similar.
  17. Tops may be removed from vehicles with removable tops.
  18. Tailgates and passenger seats may be removed.
  19. Driver must remain in stock location.
  20. No chain drives. Must have transfer case.
  21. Must have mufflers.
  22. 4, 6, 8, & 10 cylinder Automotive engines only. Engine swaps allowed.
  23. Aluminum heads allowed. No aftermarket aluminum engine blocks.
  24. Engine limited to a single carb or O.E.M. style injection only.  Dominator carbs not permitted.
  25. O.E.M. Superchargers and turbochargers only.
  26. Fuel must be gasoline, diesel, CNG, or propane. No nitrous oxide or methanol.

(CW) Women’s Hot Street "Pit"

  1. Female drivers only. All other rules from class (C) – Hot Street – apply.

 (D) Super Stock "Fast Track"

  1. Tires limited to unmodified military or D.O.T. approved of 44.5" or less in diameter.
  2. No agricultural/industrial tires.
  3. Dual wheels allowed only on vehicles so equipped from the factory.
  4. Vehicles must have stock-appearing frame.
  5. Suspension limited to any O.E.M. style.
  6. Vehicles in this class must have been available as a four-wheel drive.
  7. Engine and all drivetrain components must be in stock location.
  8. Heavier drivetrain components may be used.
  9. Must have full internal and external body.  Door panels, dash, and front inner fenders may be gutted. No gutting of floor or bed. No bumpers required.
  10. Fenders may be trimmed for tire clearance. Functional flatbeds allowed.  Aftermarket beds must be at least cab width and support the weight of a tech inspector at any point.
  11. May remove lights and wipers, but must retain stock-appearing front grill.
  12. Vehicles do not need current registration.
  13. Fiberglass replacement body parts must retain O.E.M. dimensions.  Fiberglass permitted on bed and front clip only.  Cab/Tub must remain steel.
  14. May remove doors from CJ, YJ, TJ, FJ40, Scout, pre '78 Bronco, & similar.
  15. Tops may be removed from vehicles with removable tops. Must retain windshield.
  16. Tailgates and passenger seats may be removed.
  17. Driver must remain in stock location.
  18. No chain drives. Must have transfer case.
  19. Open headers allowed, and may exit hood or fenders.
  20. 4, 6, 8, & 10 cylinder engines. Engine swaps allowed. Automotive engines only.
  21. Engine limited to a single carb (split Dominator not permitted) or O.E.M. style injection only.
  22. Aluminum heads allowed, must be 23 degree, non-hemi. No aftermarket aluminum engine blocks.
  23. O.E.M. Superchargers and turbochargers only.
  24. Fuel must be gasoline, diesel, CNG, propane or methanol. No nitrous oxide.

(E) Outlaw Stock "Pit"

  1. Tires limited to unmodified military or D.O.T. approved of 40.0" or less in diameter.
  2. No agricultural/industrial tires.
  3. Dual wheels allowed only on vehicles so equipped from the factory.
  4. Body swaps allowed. Any suspension may be used.
  5. Vehicles in this class must have been available as a four-wheel drive.
  6. Engine and all drivetrain components must be in stock location with balancer not to be behind the front axle.
  7. Heavier drivetrain components may be used.
  8. Must have full internal and external body. No bumpers required.
  9. Functional flatbeds allowed.
  10. Must retain general street "appearance". May remove lights and/or wipers.
  11. Vehicles do not need current registration.
  12. Fiberglass replacement body parts allowed.
  13. Fenders may be trimmed for tire clearance.
  14. May remove doors from CJ, YJ, TJ, FJ40, Scout, pre '78 Bronco, & similar.
  15. Tops may be removed from vehicles with removable tops.
  16. Tailgates and passenger seats may be removed.
  17. May remove all glass.
  18. Driver position may be relocated anywhere within passenger compartment.
  19. No chain drives. Must have transfer case.
  20. Open headers allowed, and may exit hood or fenders.
  21. 4, 6, 8, & 10 cylinder engines. Engine swaps allowed. Automotive engines only.
  22. Engine limited to a single carb or O.E.M. style injection only.
  23. Aftermarket aluminum engine blocks will not be allowed. Aluminum heads will be allowed.
  24. O.E.M. Superchargers and turbochargers only.
  25. Fuel must be gasoline, diesel, CNG, methanol, or propane. No nitrous oxide.

(F) Pro DOT "Fast Track"

  1. Tires limited to military or D.O.T. approved of 50" or less in diameter.
  2. Tires may not be modified for performance gains.
  3. No agricultural/industrial tires.
  4. Dual wheels allowed only on vehicles so equipped from the factory.
  5. Any suspension may be used.
  6. Must retain O.E.M. frame. Lightening holes allowed in siderails, but must retain at least 2 original crossmembers and full factory width.
  7. Front axle may be moved forward up to 10% of original wheelbase, up to twelve (12) inches.
  8. Engine may be set back up to 10% of the original wheelbase, but measurement from center of the differential to driver side 1st spark plug is not to exceed twelve (12) inches.
  9. External body must retain resemblance to any factory vehicle. No narrowing of body or removal of external parts. Body parts may be trimmed for tire clearance. Fiberglass replacement parts allowed.  1-piece bodies allowed.
  10. Internal bed and cab may be cut out, but driver must remain shielded from drivetrain components, fuel lines, and engine coolant.
  11. Glass may be removed from all vehicles.
  12. Windshield frames and tailgates may be removed from all vehicles.
  13. Driver position may be relocated anywhere within cab.
  14. Chain drives allowed.
  15. Any automotive engine allowed. Exhaust may exit through hood or fenders.
  16. Induction will be limited to a maximum of 1 4-barrel carb, 2 2-barrel carbs (single split dominator allowed), or OEM style injection.
  17. No superchargers or turbochargers.
  18. Primary fuel must be gasoline or methanol only, nitrous oxide not permitted.

(G) Pro DOT "Pit"

1.         New “Pit” class for 2007 – all rules from class “F” (above) apply.

(H) Pro Stock "Fast Track"

  1. Tires limited to military or D.O.T. approved of 47" or less in diameter.
  2. Tires may be modified for performance gains.
  3. No agricultural/industrial tires.
  4. Dual wheels allowed only on vehicles so equipped from the factory.
  5. Any suspension may be used.
  6. Must retain O.E.M. frame. Lightening holes allowed in siderails, but must retain at least 2 original crossmembers and full factory width.  Alterations to the framerail shape will be permitted entirely in front of the front axle, and completely aft of the rear axle.
  7. External body must retain original appearance. No narrowing of body or removal of external parts. Body parts may be trimmed for tire clearance. Replacement body parts allowed, but must retain factory dimensions.
  8. Front axle may be moved forward up to 10% of original wheelbase, up to twelve (12) inches.
  9. Engine may be set back up to 10% of the original wheelbase, but measurement from center of the differential to driver side 1st spark plug is not to exceed twelve (12) inches.
  10. Body must be mounted to frame in traditional manner with floorboard at or above frame height.  Channeling the body over the frame will not be permitted.
  11. Internal bed and cab may be cut out, but driver must remain shielded from drivetrain components, fuel lines, and engine coolant.
  12. Glass may be removed from all vehicles.
  13. Windshield frames and tailgates may be removed from all vehicles.
  14. Driver position may be relocated anywhere within cab.
  15. Chain drives allowed.
  16. Any automotive engine allowed. Exhaust may exit through hood or fenders.
  17. Induction may be single carb, multi-carb, or injection.
  18. Nitrous Oxide will not be permitted on injected vehicles.
  19. No superchargers or turbochargers.
  20. Primary fuel must be gasoline or methanol only.
  21. Note: Vehicles deemed legal for Pro DOT, but not meeting the conditions of Pro Stock rules (6) and/or (7) will be permitted in Pro Stock, but will NOT be permitted to run Nitrous.

 

 (HW) Women's Pro Stock "Fast Track"

1.         Female drivers only.  All other rules from class “H” will apply

 (I) Altered "Pit"

  1. Any size or style of tire allowed.
  2. No tire diameter minimum or maximum. May run dual tires front and rear.
  3. Tires may be modified for performance gains.
  4. Vehicles will be limited to unmodified D.O.T. or agricultural/industrial tires if running any of the following: multiple carbs, aftermarket injection, Nitrous Oxide, Supercharger, Turbocharger.
  5. No vehicle limitations. Superchargers & Turbochargers allowed.
  6. Any safely produced or altered chassis or body may be used.
  7. Primary fuel limited to gasoline, diesel, CNG, propane, or methanol. Nitrous Oxide allowed.

(J) Modified "Fast Track"

  1. Tires limited to 47" or less in diameter. May run paddle-style on front only. Rear tires MUST be military or D.O.T.
  2. Dual tires not allowed. Tires may be modified for performance gains.
  3. No agricultural/industrial tires.
  4. Any safely produced or altered chassis or body may be used.
  5. May use multiple carbs or injection
  6. Rear-mounted engines allowed. No superchargers or turbochargers.
  7. Primary fuel must be gasoline or methanol only. Nitrous Oxide allowed.

 

(K) Pro Modified "Fast Track"

  1. Tires limited to modified D.O.T. approved or scoop tread of 47" or less in diameter.
  2. No agricultural/industrial tires or unmodified D.O.T. tires. May run front and/or rear dual wheels.
  3. Any safely produced or altered chassis or body may be used.
  4. May use multiple carbs, injection, superchargers and/or turbochargers.
  5. Rear-mounted engines allowed.
  6. Primary fuel must be gasoline or methanol only. Nitrous Oxide allowed.
